Resolved Question

Are 'paintball-guns' getting to be the new 'self-defence' weapon?

I've heard that except from the normal paintballs you now get 'granite-balls', 'rubber-balls' and even canisters with pepperspray thats mounted in the gun to be released with the pull of the triger! 69 mths ago

Nice icon! We bought a paintball gun for self dedence purposes only. You don't need a licence and it is quite cheap to maintain.Gas cylinder refill cost R12.00 and we get the plastic balls free from a freind. The gun shoots +/- 27 - 30 balls per second so if you are prepared you just might scare off an intruder. You even get the latest smaller lady size guns-brilliant!!

Great plan!! Where can I buy all that???

Yes then we can realy paint the crimenals

Yes. That is correct. The paint ball now contains a pepper concoction which takes out the perpetrator even if he is hiding behind a couch. I prefer these paint ball guns, because they are not has harmfull to your kids as real guns are, and if you mistakenly pull the trigger on someone he will just end up with tears in his eyes and hell in his throat. Much safer

I want one, going to rob a bank with that thing. Nice idea, not so harmfull.

yup - I have also heard of the pepper spray "paint balls". I also know of people who keep a kattie (sp?) and paint balls in their home in case someone sets off the outdoor security beams.

Seems to be. Kids around here even use it to get to animals.

I'd get one. No licence required, not fatal.

I think paintballs are the only form of distant protection

Sounds great.

Where do I buy them? How much do they cost?

69 mths ago

I will definetely get one for self defence. Because if you want a gun do you know all the shit you have to go through to get a gun license, you know how much it costs you? And it takes like 6 months and and and at the end they don't issue you one!!! Where can I buy one???

69 mths ago

No, but gas pistols and knives.

I've been looking at one for ages, since they broke into my car, nice for distance protection, but for close up you need to get a tazer...

excellent self defence weapon and no red tape with licences

Super great idea. So I surpose it will soon be banned.

now i have a suggestion. if you found pleasure for your eyes to see them colored. so here it is. have pleasure for the ears too. make them sing. inject the balls with bleach or an acid that wont eat away the ball or a poison that will infect the skin an let them slowly die weeks later.

Excellent idea!!

Yeah, haven't you heard! I keep one in my back pocket. Pepper spray is not a good idea though. You ever heard of muzzle splatter? It's when you paintball bursts within the barrel of your marker. Viz. hijacker pulls up outside your car window, you have him wait there while you run round to the boot of your car, pull out your painball marker, load a round of pepperspray, and fire at the now snickering assailant. Your round bursts at the exit of your barrel, totally incapactitating yourself. Your assailant has the misfortune of killing himself by laughing to death. Good idea. Try marbles instead, or ask yourself: what would Vernon do?

yep some of these items are quasi illegal but very obtainable. best place to contact is Gotcha paintball or Battlezone paintball the managers are Jacques 082 9245956 and JJ 082 818 0345 they have a ProShop well stocked and are MUCH (40%) cheaper than places like security stores. Happy hunting!!

Marbles.

Despite what's written here so far, NOT a good idea at all. Most robbers/ hijackers/ burglars are on a knife-edge anyway. All they need is the slightest provocation- like a sudden move, ANY sudden move- to use their *VERY REAL* guns or knives on you and you're toast. Firstly because your 'self defence' weapon ISN'T, second because you pi$$ed them off by alarming them into thinking it MIGHT BE. If you're truly serious about self-defence, get REAL serious, and thats not going to happen with a toy. Any toy.
