Resolved Question

How can I combine two pictures into one without using Photoshop?

I would like to create a screensaver of my two grandchildren - at the same age (when they were both 4 months old).

The pictures are downloaded from digital camera, so no, I don't have the actual photos to scan are whatever. I don't want to buy Photoshop as I will not be using it much. I have tried Picasa, and it seems to do exactly what I need. I will also try the Gimp.

The answer lies in The GIMP. It's an open-source image manipulation product, which is free to download and in many instances it's as good, if not better than PhotoShop Elements.... You could also try PhotoShop Express (a free online application) https://www.photoshop.com/express/landing.html Enjoy!

Why don't you want to use Photoshop? I have successfully manipulated pics with this program, and it was easy!

I use 'Paint' (normally with the MS Word package) It has basic functions to manipulate almost any drawing or picture - doesn't matter if it was scanned, downloaded or otherwise saved on your system. It has a button on the left bottom of the menu that enables you to overlap two or more pictures. When your picture is open, you just righthand-click on your picture and choose 'open with' and then 'Paint' to take the picture to this program. Repeat the process and then copy and paste the other picture (s) to the first.

The best would be paint - you should have it - it come automatically with Windows. Open the Paint - you will find it under accessories - open 1 of you pictures. If you look on the canvas you will see that you can click and drag the canvas bigger. Open another paint application - open the 2nd picture you want - just copy and paste it into you 1st application and move it to the required place.
