Resolved Question

How can I get rid of a virus in my cellphone?

I have a nokia E65 which has been infected with a virus that makes all the content that has been saved on the memory card 'disappear'. Luckily it hasn't messed up with the running of the cellphone, I can still access all functionality except for pics, music and some other files on the memory card. I have 2 gigs, worth of data on the card but I can't access it on my phone. I can only see tghe stuff when I connect the cell onto my PC. I have reformatted my micro SD card a couple of times to no avail. Besides expensive anti-virus software, is there any cheap/easy way of solving this problem? 71 mths ago

why waste time, money and effort? go to www.kaspersky.com and downlaod the KAV mobile trial, scan and remove the virus. if you cant find it, go on the net from your phone and google DOWNLOAD KAV MOBILE, you should find a wap site with the mobile trial version. download it, run a scan and remove. voila!

If you are able to conect it to your pc via a card reader you can use your PC antivirus to check the card. If you have formated the card and still had no joy it means that one of the files that you backed up and put back on the card is effed. Back up the card contents to pc, whipe the card and format using your nokia cd there is certain drivers that need to be on the disk for your phone to recognize it. It might also be that the stuff you safed on your phone is of a format that is not supported and you need to install it. Cell viruses are extremely rare and more often than not it is due to opperator error or a hardware failure.

Wash your cellphone with Dettol. Dettol protect has excellent anti-bacterial properties and will most likely kill all viruses too.

I'd write it off and get another phone. Don't try VodaWorld - they've had my kid's phone for over a month now!

Are you sure it's a virus? I suggest downloading a free virus scanner for your cellphone (most antivirus companies have them and have been mentioned here already). If that doesn't turn up any infections (which I doubt it will) you may find that your SD card is faulty or that you have a software problem on your phone.

If you have already formatted it then there is nothing else you can do except take it to a service place=====or get a new phone.
