I had the same problem & went to the Optometrist. They gave me glasses to protect my eyes but they also told me that you have to rest your eyes every now and then & look around to relax your eye muscles a bit.

If you're still using a monitor get a LCD screen with a high refresh rate. Don't work in a dark room if your not use to it. If that does'nt solve the problem do what Binx said.

SpecSavers can make you special spectacles and ask from your local computer store, like Hifi Corruption, Incredible Connection, etc. for the "shade" you can put over your computer screen..

Vivi's got it. The shade helps alot, but is really clumsy and unfashionable. LED/LCD screens with high refresh rates help. On a recent visit to my optometrist i was told that you blink upto 60% less when working on a computer. I make a mental effort to purposefully blink as much as possible, especially if i have my contacts in.

if you are making use of a laptop or other LCD screen you are fine. You might just want to get reading glasses. LCD screens does not pose any threat to your eyes besides strain.

Here china when you have glasses made you can add extra features. Like darkening for sun protection as well as a protection for computer screens. Also there is a thin plastic sheet you can stick onto the screen to protect eyes . Available in computer shops. Or set your screen that it is not that bright!
