We've had a few beetles, my 1977 sold for a grand total of R9k. It just kept breaking. I would say it depends on the condition and milage. I've seen oldies being sold for over R50k.

My Cousin has just bought, like 2 weeks ago, a 1974 Beetle. Totally original, one owner, 80 000 odd Kms, outstanding condition. Paid R21,000 for it, but it needed tires, shocks, and a good service. Owner originally wanted 25k. You can pick one up for 8k, or if you want, there is a beautiful convertible for 65k. It all depends on the condition of the car.

Cathrin has been looking for an old Beetle. Ranges from R13000 (condition) right up to R30,000. I was also surprised. Thought it would be much more.
