I think it's a mental illness which they call demonic posession. It has nothing to do with demons. I believe there's a logical esplaination for it but I definitely don't believe in demonic posession. Your brain is very powerful & it will make strange things happen to you.

I think it's real, because I've seen what can only be a boy possessed at church camp. They had to call all the preachers to help. This boy (bear in mind we were in our early teens) was tearing up mattresses in the dorms. They were in pieces, not just the covers.

I think it's an absolute reality. If we believe in angels and guardian angels and God and Satan then definitely also demons. It would be the same as saying to someone you met an angel because a complete stranger approached or helped you, why can someone not also be possessed by a demon. I have seen someone that I am certain has a demon in him, otherwise I cannot imagine how a normal person could be so cruel

Nobody seems to worry if someone with mental problems thinks he is God or Jesus or Archangel Gabriel or Tarzan or Marilyn Monroe ..and nobody is interested in getting help to banish the illusion. Whilst it may seem very frightening to see someone with a muddled up fuse box in the brain ...and often enhanced by the power of Hollywood ...it is basically a mental problem.

I think most if not all politicians, bankers and lawiars have it...if they do not, then I would love to know what makes them perpetuate their brand of evil on humanity.

Saamprater's answer - "The first sign is total denial" is a perfect example of the logic of Christian Fundamentalism. You can't argue with it - If someone says to me, "Scrote, you're possessed by a demon" and I say "No, I'm not" I'm in denial and thus possessed and must be burned at the stake. If someone says to me "Scrote, you're possessed by a demon" and I say, "Yes, I think I am" then I'm definitely possessed and must be burned at the stake. This is the presumption of fundamentalism, and why religious fundamentalism must be fought continuously. Try changing 'demonic possession' to 'gay paedophile' - "Saamprater, you're a gay paedophile". If he (rightly) says, "No I'm not" then you can say, "The first sign of being a gay paedophile is total denial". This is a fun game to play with your friends and colleagues. It's similar to the classic loaded question "Have you stopped beating your wife?" - answering yes or no presupposes your guilt.
