I don't know if he bought a PVR system but maybe this can help a bit: http://www.dstv.com/dstvsa/action/media/downloadFile?media_fileid=840 *** or for the normal DSTV http://www.uec.co.za/manuals/OpMan642.pdf?6aea82d4cc2a5453d309964fa1978fe3=05f0a0845cc7da949000a51273b4ed94 *** Hope this helps! ;)

I would try calling DSTV themselves, I'm sure they have a Help Desk. Otherwise, get the professionals in!

Have a look at your neighbours dish to get the angle right,if he is real friendly he will let you take a close look at it because at the back of the dish are graduations marks to help you along.

Spong's got it as soon as you have almost the right angle you will have a indication bar to show signal strength.

I get the TV people out to do stuff like this. I always phone somebody. My man isn't good with fixing / installing / etc. Or I phone my dad.

Any TV installation can help , checka yellowpages.

You'll need to use a satellite finder. You get them in portable dish kits, if you don't have one of these then you'll need to get somebody with one to help out. Either get a professional installer out to do the alignment (Your husband can do all the wiring, etc. himself) or find a friend with a finder.

I would go with spong... the tech that installed mine did the same then used a gadget to help - but if it gets very windy, I still lose signal ! If you bought a new decoder, check in the box there should be an installation voucher. And ... a friend of mine recently moved house, he approached a tv-tech at a neighbouring complex to align the dish and to assist with the pvr connection, cost him R150 (about 1/3 of normal cost)), coz the guy was already there.
