When last did you travel by train?

A mother was working in the kitchen, listening to her five-year-old son playing with his new electric train in the living room. She heard the train stop & her son saying, "All of you b*stards who want off, get the hell off now, cause this is the last stop! and all of you b*stards who are getting on, get your a*s in the train cause we are going down the tracks." The Mother walked into the room where her son was playing and said "we don't use that kind of language in this house. Now I want you to go to your room & stay there for TWO HOURS. When you come out, you may play with your train, but I want you to use nice language." Two hours later, the son came out of the bedroom & resumed playing with his train. Soon the train stopped & the mother heard her son say, "All passengers who are disembarking the train, please remember to take all of your belongings with you. We thank you for travelling with us today & hope your trip was a pleasant one." She hears the little boy continu

"All of you that are TWO hours late ... talk to the bitch in the kitchen'

Last week in fact. On the Premier Classe between PE and CT. It was a real treat. The price is relatively high, so you get a good class of person on board, also the train is locked from the inside and there are two security guards just in case. It's like a scaled down version of the Blue Train, and you really get spoiled rotten. It also runs between CT and JHB, and JHG and Durban. This is really a high star hotel on wheels.

I traveled all over this country, Southern Rhodesia, Northern Rhodesia, Namibia, Southern Angola on trains, my Dad being a Railway Man. I had the most wonderful holidays, and saw and learned about all of our country. My most recent travel was appr. 7 weeks ago, full nigh, full day, and early morning in India. It was a most wonderful experience, although I had malaria...I will never forget it.

Took a train to London last week..one hour journey is a super clean, well designed , almost silent train ...smoothly interrupted by a marshmellow soft voice telling you that 'the train is now stopping at Haywards Heath' or wherever...and a man with a trolley and fresh coffee or snacks or mini alcohol moves down the aisle for your convenience. The toilets are spotless and selfcleaning. It is a pleasure to use UK trains these days.............. Nostalgia of travelling on S.Afr trains in the 60's remains and l have lovely memories of those trains to Durban or CapeTown.

When I was 16, from Joburg station to Virginia in the Free state. Before that when I was 13 my brother and I saved up to go my grandparents for a holiday in Cape Town. I babysat the neighbours kids and he sold newspapers and we did this until there was enough money as parents couldn't afford it, we did this for a year and my mom managed to give us abit of pocket money to spend down there.

Maybe this should also be deleted because it is a joke. The chicken joke was deleted, mos. I have not used a train since I left the mother city in 1994. I have always been scared of using the train in ZAR. My first train experience was in London in 1988, I was in my final teen at the time. I still have to try the Business express between Tshwane and Jozi. I will surely try my luck on the Gautrain.
