I know !! It's bloody hectic !!! They are just saying on the news that the toll road tariffs are going to be brought in, as well. Would be wonderful if we have a decent public transport system, but that doesn't exist in this country.

It will not stop until we the people, take back control of government. They are ou servnats and as such should fulfill our wishes, but now they do what ever they want as we do not take them on. Do not be folled, the DA will do the same if we do not force their hand. Toll roads are unconstitutional, as the constitution offer human being the right of liberty and FREE movement for puropes of life and enjoyment. Tolls may only be charged from those who use roads for commerce, thus companies. Human beings cannot be charged what amounts to a tax for something thatr generate no prooftit towards them. The USA courts have ruled strongly on this and I am looking for similar court presidents in RSA...in time we will have to force this into constitutional court.

Money making scheme of our goverment

Boerseun made a good point. It is unconstitutional for a private citizen to be taxed for toll roads during personal travel, only for companies doing business. Just what does the SA law state regarding this point, I don't know. Now, regarding the petrol price issue, the hikes will stop when this government fat cats are removed, their working places disinfected with Dettol, and replaced with honest people wanting to serve their country's people and not their own pockets. It is my conviction that we are being taken for a helluva ride with this petrol price. We are not stupid, we know that brent crude is high and the rand to dollar is impacting negatively as well. However, the exact breakdown of how this all works remains to be seen, despite requests to show us, the public, how the price adjustment is calculated. If the calculated price to rise is 12c, then I feel fuel goes up by about 15c/litre...the government makes millions overnight by the extra 3c/litre and we can never know. Similarly, i feel that fuel price cuts are lessened to keep money coming in thereby screwing us both ways. I don't trust anyone these days, especially those fools in government who influence these 'intricate calculations' for fuel price but, themselves have not necessarily passed Std 6 maths.
