You get them if you're cute, like me. Mozzies are superficial that way

I have had on my face but they seem to prefer my toes and you know how difficult it is to successfully scratch your little toe.

It's true, mossies do bite on the face. I went on a trip to India years ago. One of the women on the trip woke up one morning with mosquito bites all over her face. It was so bad, she had to go to hospital. None of the rest of us was bitten (or were minimally bitten). I don't know what the mossies found so special about her.

maybe because your breathing scares them away (movement of air) or maybe because the veins in your face are too small for the mozzie to get a good easy supply blood from.

my friend had a mozzie bite on her face - it was awful. Near where the bridge of her nose meets the cnr of her eye. It looked like she had been bitch slapped from here to next week! She had a terrible swollen eye, almost closed shut. You do get them on your face, but for some reason not as much as everywhere else, I don't know why.

i get them. sometimes you might mistake them for pimples

Maybe it has something to do with breathing or snoring ;-)))

ROFLMAO @ Moannet. I think it has a lot to do with your breathing .. mozzies prefer to stay away from the wind .. and when you breathe you make wind so they will go somewhere you are not breathing on them the whole time

Mozzies have bite me in my face before and my baby's face. They bite all over.

You do!! It does not happen often...I was once bitten on my eyelid, I looked like a spaced out alien!!!

I do.

I saw a 3 month old baby yesterday whose face was covered in mozzie bites.

Mosquito's bite where they can so my conclution would be that normally even while we are sleeping when a Mossi comes close to our face (we hear them) we turn our face our flick them away with our hands and it could also be that they might not like the "wind" made by our breath. They hate a fan and that is why there are alot less mossi bites on you when you sleep with a fan on

I am with Ixus on this one. I can see and hear mossies zoom past my ears and or land on my face whilst sitting working. So they get the cr@p slaped out of them for their efforts. When lying down trying to sleep, I can hear them in the dark zooming around my ears. Then I pop them with my pillow. Persistent ones get the light switched on so that they can get the CR@P knocked out of them. So mostly the go for my feet. The wind from fans do keep them away.

Mozzies actually finds us by the carbon dioxide that your body gives of, the further your blood is from your heart the more carbon dioxide will be in it, and the more visible it will be to the mozzy. If they dont bite you in your face, it means there is no blood circulation to your head. See a doctor

WW,dont bees also work like that.?

at the rate that mozzies bite me, they alost lift me oiff my bed at night!! I am so "tuned" for them that as soon as they come close to my face I hear them and smash like nothing on earth, maybe that's why they don't easily bite me in the face.......

64 mths ago

I watched a programme about mozzies, that they prefer stinky feet! So maybe your face is clean??! Hell I don't know but I've since proven that theory crap cos I can have a shower and the bloody mozzie squadrons decend upon me in their droves, whether its my face, feet, legs, arms or what.

I get bitten on my face too. Been bitten on my eyelid twice, had my cheeks and forehead bitten too. The bumps in my face just goes away quicker than it does on the rest of my body.

Mosquito's scan their targets using infrared technology i.e your hottest part of your body mainly your ears, arms and legs will be attacked. When you flick your ear, your blood pressure rises, thus an increase in body temperature and the mosquito sits on the spot that "glows" the brightest and will bite if it is not disturbed. If you are in deep sleep, then there is no way of preventing a bite.

maybe your night cream/moisturiser has something in it that repels them. I still believe that vitBco tabs stops them from biting me anywhere

64 mths ago

I do. Even behind my ears, etc. One evening the mosquito's declared war against me and I thought I got chickenpox again.
